Shawna Schiro

Shawna Schiro is a film photographer who sees the world through 35mm and Polaroid, capturing moments where memory and emotion collide. Her images tell stories through light and grain, each frame quietly honoring the past while pulsing with the present.

After earning a BA in Film Studies, Schiro began her career in film and television, freelancing on projects for Amazon, MGM, Netflix, the Golden Globe Awards, CBS The Talk, the ACM Awards, and the Billboard Music Awards, among many others. These experiences shaped her ability to move effortlessly in fast-paced, collaborative environments, translating ideas into images that resonate on both intimate and grand scales.

Alongside her film work, Schiro has built a dynamic career in the music industry with Entertainment Tonight, Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records, and Capitol Records. At RCA, she worked as Executive Assistant to the COO, gaining insight into the inner workings of the industry. Her time at Capitol Records placed her at the center of global creative campaigns for artists such as Doechii, Norah Jones, Troye Sivan, Katy Perry, Ice Spice, Offset, and Beck. These roles sharpened her eye for storytelling, honed her collaborative skills, and gave her the ability to bring vision to life with precision and care.

Now working in a local film lab, Schiro is reconnecting with the hands-on craft of analog photography, deepening her understanding and love for the medium. Immersed in the process from start to finish, she brings a quiet attentiveness to her work, letting each image emerge with intention, care, and a cinematic sensibility.

Rooted in nostalgia, her photographs honor independent spirits and environments beyond convention. She moves through her worlds with empathy and curiosity, capturing subjects in their full truth, glamorous, raw, and profoundly human.

Expanding into photojournalism, she seeks the tension between art and reality, moments where vulnerability and authenticity converge. Her work is an invitation to look closer, to find poetry in the untamed, and beauty in the unguarded.
